▲ highlights: Dutch Design Week starts this week // all about design
_hey! »
This month, everything is about design. This letter as well. Tomorrow I am travelling to the Netherlands for Dutch Design Week and I am ultra excited. Not only is it my first chance to present the game in the Netherlands and look for a publisher or any kind of partner to develop it further, but also to immerse myself in all that inspiration during the event - imagine all the design projects on display there!
Without further ado, let’s dive into this art letter, pardon, design letter ;-P

★ <designing the future: What if there was a design minister in the Government?/> I have been researching the importance of design in our future building quite a lot since mid-2024. It’s obvious that most of the design decisions affect our daily lives and taste: from the objects we use every day at home, to the interior of the tram (or whatever vehicle) you take on your way to work. But what if the design of everything were a bit more unified? Is this a utopia or a dystopia?
Darren Yeo writes about DesignSingapore Council, which was established in 2003 to promote design to people and for designers to participate in the national agenda. In 2003, 22 years ago. Design was seen as so important that it had to become part of the national policy.
My first reflection while reading this was, "Is this a utopia or a dystopia?". On the one hand, it sounds amazing and inspiring when the Government and society understand the value of unified design decisions and take care of that with good intentions.
But then I was thinking of my homeland's Government and problematic political situation - we struggle with a lack of any quality on the most basic level. And then, we have people like Trump, who can create disasters during their rule.
However, the idea is interesting, and whether we agree or not, design is shaping our collective future.
🖤 <new design partner opening in November/> As you most probably know, lots of my work is about graphic design and illustration. I love supporting makers, small businesses, non-profits, and wonderful people in their visual communication.
✏️ From November, I’ll have time & space to welcome one new monthly design partner! (see more here)
I work with small and medium businesses, makers, NGOs, researchers, artists, and creative communities to make their ideas visual and visible. Whether it’s graphics, reports, or storytelling, I help bring clarity and consistency so your work connects with the people who matter.
These monthly partnerships are perfect if you don’t need a full-time designer but want reliable, ongoing creative support from someone who gets your projects and your voice.
If you or your organisation could use steady design/visual support starting in November, I’d love to chat!

♡ <last gig: Athens Art Books Fair/> Together with some of my favourite people (Blob Shop Collective babes), we took part in the Athens Art Book fair last weekend. I was amazed: they managed to fit so many publishers and artists coming from all around Europe and beyond (Cairo, Tehran, Shanghai, New York, Mexico City, and more).
I sold one How to Sound Jam publication to a person who was excited about it! This is priceless. Plus, I connected with some people over the Don’t put cilantro in my dish, please fanzine, too :D
❐ <internet wisdom to leave you with/> This month’s artist venting post comes from Threads - my new favourite place, xaxa
(we can connect there in case you use it)
