_hello there »
Happy news: I redesigned my website! 🥳 What’s new? I am refreshing my offerings! My website shares the details, but in short, I have an opening for a new client! I offer visual support services, live drawing at events, and custom illustrations. If you know anyone who might need this kind of help, please let them know.
Hop on and discover all the things I can support you/them with!
_things to share »
↳ <up next: Direction Strong art residency/> I am incredibly excited to be part of Emprove’s next big thing! They’re organising an art residency in January, which aims to give more time and space to a selected group of artists to create on the topic of women survivors’ strength. I’ve been working with Emprove since 2019, but this is the first time when I will be able to create art coming from me (and not being a bit practical - which I also always loved doing).
The project will take place over the whole time until the end of January, and the residency will conclude our art-making with a beautiful and shared moment with everyone involved. I am both super excited and a bit anxious (as always when feeling the privilege and pressure of creating something, haha).
♡ <Christmas market recap/> So grateful to the team of Yfantourgeio (it means Weaving Mill because of the lovely building’s previous purpose) for including me in their art weekend bazaar! It was such a great opportunity to meet local people, connect with other artists, and showcase a bit of my work. I missed having conversations about which software you use for vector or raster drawing :D
During the market, I also asked people about how cilantro tastes to them. The survey confirmed my research: around 15% of people around Europe hate it, the rest find it super fresh and lovely :D
▲ <Cilantroversy joined Street Vendor Publisher at the Bangkok Art Book Fair/> My friends Chae and Supi’s project was part of BKKABF 2025 last weekend! They invited us, the Blob Shop Collective members, to take part in the journey with a contribution of our current obsession. Of course, I went on to continue my research on coriander: I asked friends, family, and random people about the taste of cilantro for them. I wish I could be there in person, but at least a piece of me is there, thanks to Chae for producing the little cute boxes with cilantro tastes!
From what Chae shared with me, there were people who specifically requested to get the Cilantroversy box from the SVP! The controversy of this topic brought people on both sides to talk about it, share their tastes, and take it for their friends who either love it or hate it.
💭 How does cilantro taste to you?
↳ <new documentation: Tilda Swinton - Ongoing/> Reflected on my experience visiting Tilda’s exhibition at the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam back in October. Check out the alwiki page here.
⍟ <40/> Finally, a few thoughts on me entering a new decade. I remember when I turned 30, I was quite excited: I was thinking, “this is the best decade of my life, I have to make the best out of it”. I put a lot of pressure on myself, to be honest. I felt like I was going to get old in a minute, so I had to do everything now.
10 years later, I feel much less pressure to scratch things off a to-do list. I mean, I do it every day in my work, but I am trying to live a calmer life: home-cooked food, better care of my body and soul, taking it easy. I guess I am getting old after all. It took me a minute.
Happy 1312 (Alex day)! Thank you for being here <3
▶▶Here is a song from 1985 for you. No, it’s not “Running up that hill”, even though if it wasn’t for Stranger Things, I would have put that one :D If you’re seeing the show, you had enough of it <3
